Gordon County Schools is teaming up with the Chattanooga Area Food Bank to help local families in need by hosting a community food distribution event next month.

The distribution will take place on Saturday, November 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Gordon County Schools Central Office, located at 7300 Fairmount Highway SE in Calhoun.

Eligible Georgia residents will have the opportunity to receive a variety of groceries to help meet their household food needs.

According to Gordon County Schools, eligibility for the distribution will be based on household income and family size.

Organizers are encouraging families planning to participate to arrive early, as food supplies are limited and are expected to run out.

Residents who would like to receive updates about the distribution can text “GAFOOD” to 423-622-1800.

Additional information and event updates are also available through the official Facebook event page.

Gordon County Schools expressed appreciation to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank for its partnership and continued efforts to support families throughout the community.

The November 14 distribution is part of an effort to provide food assistance to eligible Georgia households and help address food insecurity in the Gordon County area.
