Blood Assurance will be on the Georgia Northwestern Technical College Floyd County Campus this week, giving students, faculty, staff, and community members an opportunity to help save lives through blood donation.
The blood drive is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the Floyd County Campus.
Appointments can be scheduled in advance, although walk-in donors are also welcome to participate.
Blood Assurance now allows donors to schedule blood, platelet, and plasma donations online. Potential donors are encouraged to review eligibility requirements before making an appointment. Those who are uncertain about their eligibility are advised to contact their local donor center before arriving, as individuals who do not meet donation requirements may be unable to donate at the time of their appointment.
Blood donations play a critical role in supporting local hospitals and patients in need of lifesaving transfusions. Organizers encourage eligible donors to take part and help maintain an adequate blood supply for the region.
