Gordon County took to the polls yesterday to vote for multiple local races. The voters across Gordon County got to vote for county commissioners and for seats on the School Board. Gordon County will be seeing one of the races advance into a runoff election on June 16th.
The incumbent Republican, Chad Steward, won the Gordon County Commissioner bid for District 2, winning with 58 percent over George Hayes Jr. The incumbent Republican Kurt Sutherland won by a landslide for the Gordon County Commissioner bid in District 4, winning with 57 percent of the votes.
Voters will get a chance to take part in the runoff election for Gordon County Board of Education post 7 as neither Judy Craig nor her opponent, Dakota Grogan, was able to secure enough votes to win the bid.
