GORDON COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT CLERK WALRAVEN WINS 2024 GEORGIA CLERK OF THE YEAR AWARD: The 2025 Superior Court Clerk’s Association Spring Training was held last week at St. Simons Island. On Wednesday, the 40th annual Stetson F. Bennett Clerk of the Year Award Banquet was held. The 2024 Stetson F. Bennett Clerk of the Year was awarded to Gordon County Superior Court Clerk Grant Walraven.
Walraven was nominated by his peers for the Clerk of the Year award. Each year, nominations are made for any eligible Georgia Superior Court Clerk and then narrowed down to the Top 3 clerks.
Walraven has served as Superior Court Clerk since 2013. In 2021, he won the award for the 7th District Clerk of the Year. He also currently serves as president of the Council of Superior Court Clerks of Georgia and vice president of the Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia. Locally, he also serves on the Calhoun Touch Down Club Board of Directors, Calhoun City Recreation Board of Directors and Gordon County Chamber Government Committee.
Walraven was recognized by his peers, judges and staff for outstanding leadership and dedication to the role of clerk. He was presented with the award from the Bennett family during the banquet. Stetson F. Bennett was elected to the Superior Court Clerk’s Office in 1965. The prestigious Clerk of the Year Award was founded by the Bennett family in 1985.
