    Wind chills in the teens and a few single digit values will be possible across north and central Georgia Sunday night into Monday morning. Please prepare for a cold morning commute and avoid prolonged exposure to the cold when possible.

    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.

  • City of Calhoun is mailing out information on well testing for PFAS. forever chemicals, to affected residents. These letters will contain all the instructions to have your well tested, and to become part of the municipal supply or have a water filtration system installed if the tests indicate a need. Now, we have already had reports of scammers reaching out to steal information by posing as city workers helping you sign up – remember – ties is a scam. The letters with instructions will come in the mail. If you receive a call hang up; when you get your letter, follow the instructions.
  • Gov. Kemp’s 40.5 billion dollar budget was signed into law. Locally., we will share in the 500 million dollars allocated for infrastructure improvements to make freight move more easily on Georgia’s highways’ there is also a fifty million dollar appropriation for school safety to be divided among Georgia’s school system.
  • KCGB – the award-winning local group is emphasizing paper recycling at all seven of Gordon County’s community trash collection sites. Recycling paper is a vital part of extending the life of our landfill, saving forests, and controlling the costs of environmental cleanup.
  • Congratulations to Gordon County Clerk Hollis Barton. She was honored for completing 101 hours of training for her position at the University of Georgia.
