Mr. William Hamilton Lyon, II, age 53, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 28, 2026, at his home.
William was born April 23, 1973, in Lexington, Kentucky. He was a 1991 graduate of Magoffin County High School in Salyersville, Kentucky, and later earned his associate’s degree in computer science from the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.
William spent many years as a self-employed, over-the-road truck driver. He found great joy in life on the open road, traveling in his big rig across every state in the continental United States, as well as throughout much of Canada and Mexico. He was a man of strong convictions who stood firmly in his beliefs and never compromised them. A devout Christian, William loved his Lord, his family, and held a deep and special love for his mother. He was a faithful member of Tunnel Hill First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deanne Marie Newton Lyon, who passed away March 7, 2024; his father, James William Lyon; his grandparents, William Hamilton Lyon, I and Emily Chandler Lyon, and Willard and Virgie Parsons Niece.
He is survived by his young son, James Hamilton Lyon; his daughters, Chandler Lyon of Lexington, Kentucky, and Katherine Lyon of Harriman, Tennessee; his granddaughter, Anastacia Wooten of Harriman, Tennessee; his mother and stepfather, Patricia and David Padgett of Harvest, Alabama; and his sister, Rebecca Ruth Lyon of Harvest, Alabama.
William will be laid to rest alongside his grandparents at Bush Cemetery in Harold, Kentucky.
