Bruce Potts has unseated incumbent Ray Denmon to win the Post 4 seat on the Calhoun City Council in Tuesday’s election.
Potts, who ran on a platform focused on improving city infrastructure and bringing a fresh perspective to local government, received 964 votes to Denmon’s 739.
A total of 1,763 ballots were cast in the city election, representing a 16.07% voter turnout among nearly 11,000 registered voters.
With this victory, Potts will take his seat on the City Council as part of Calhoun’s leadership team moving into 2026, pledging to address community needs and support continued city growth.
