    Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.

Sheriff Ralston Welcomes Two Newest Deputy Sheriffs

The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the graduation of two new deputy sheriffs. On Friday, November 21, Deputy Warren King and Deputy Tyler Cooper successfully completed the 20-week Basic Law Enforcement Training Course (BLETC) at the Regional Police Academy in Rome, earning certification as Basic Georgia Peace Officers.

Both deputies distinguished themselves during the rigorous program. Deputy Tyler Cooper served as class president, while Deputy Warren King held the position of vice president. In recognition of his exemplary service, Deputy King was also awarded the class guidon, an identification flag presented by the Academy training staff.

Sheriff Mitch Ralston welcomed the new deputies, emphasizing their dedication and commitment to serving the community. “We are proud to have these outstanding individuals join our team. Their leadership and professionalism during training reflect the high standards of the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office,” Ralston said.
