Calhoun City Schools has announced Scott Carter as the new head volleyball coach at Calhoun High School following the departure of Coach Jennifer Quinn, who stepped down after four successful seasons leading the Lady Jackets.

Coach Quinn leaves behind a legacy of historic achievement and program growth. Under her leadership, Calhoun reached new heights, earning a State Runner-Up finish in 2024 and a Final Four appearance in 2025. Her efforts helped establish the Lady Jackets as one of the top volleyball programs in the Georgia High School Association. Calhoun City Schools expressed sincere appreciation for Quinn’s dedication, leadership, and lasting impact on student-athletes and the program.

Coach Carter takes over the high school program with a strong track record of success within the district. He has served as the Calhoun Middle School volleyball coach for the past two seasons, guiding the team to two region championships while expanding participation and strengthening the district’s volleyball pipeline.

As part of the coaching transition, Calhoun City Schools also announced Jheri Hawkins as the new head volleyball coach at Calhoun Middle School. Hawkins previously served as an assistant coach at Calhoun High School during the 2025 season and brings several years of coaching experience to the role.

District officials say the changes reflect a continued commitment to building on the success of Calhoun’s volleyball programs at every level.
