Woman Arrested After Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Incident

A Calhoun woman faces felony charges following a Tuesday morning vehicle versus pedestrian incident that began near Highway 41 North and ended on South Wall Street.

Police say Ashia Odom was taken into custody after officers located her vehicle and found the male victim suffering from serious injuries, including a severe leg injury. Odom reportedly gave inconsistent statements about what happened.

She is charged with Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Battery and remains in the Gordon County Jail. The victim was transported to AdventHealth Gordon. The case remains under investigation.


Sheriff’s Auxiliary Supports K9 Unit

The Sheriff’s Auxiliary donated $683.74 to the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit to purchase tracking equipment for bloodhounds “Maggie” and “Max.”

The dogs assist in search operations and criminal investigations throughout the county.
