Georgia drivers will continue to receive relief at the gas pump after Governor Brian Kemp extended the state’s suspension of motor fuel excise taxes through June 2.

Kemp declared a State of Emergency and issued Executive Order 05.15.26.02, citing the ongoing impact of rising fuel prices on Georgia residents and businesses.

Under the executive order, the collection of Georgia’s motor fuel excise tax will remain suspended beginning at 12 a.m. on May 20 and continuing through 11:59 p.m. on June 2.

The temporary suspension is intended to help offset higher fuel costs by lowering prices at the pump for consumers across the state.

Georgia has used similar fuel tax suspensions in recent years during periods of elevated gas prices and economic strain.
