The American Red Cross is continuing its urgent call for blood donors as the organization works to recover from an ongoing national blood crisis.
The Red Cross says the nation’s blood supply remains under severe pressure and is currently at a four-year summer low. Officials say adding just three more donors at every blood drive could help stabilize supplies and protect patient care.
Locally, upcoming blood drives include Monday, August 17, from 1 until 6 p.m. at the Fairmount Community Center, and August 31 from 1 until 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Calhoun.
Those who donate during August will also receive a $20 Amazon gift card by email.
