    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
William Whitfield Johnson
April 13, 1942 — September 19, 2025

William “Billy” Whitfield Johnson, age 83, of Calhoun, passed away Friday morning, September 19th, in Rome.

Billy served in the Georgia National Guard and, before his retirement, was a shipping supervisor with Georgia Tufters. He loved spending time hunting and being outdoors. You could find Billy, listening or watching his beloved Georgia Bulldogs whenever they took the field

He is survived by his son, Blane Johnson, and his wife, Katherine, two grandchildren, Brittany Johnson and Jeremy Johnson, and his wife, Nicole. One great-grandson, Parker Johnson, also survives.

The family will come together on Saturday, September 27th from 11 AM to 1 PM and receive friends to celebrate Billy’s life from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home.
