Gordon County’s own Isabella Seqursky has been named the 2025 Distinguished Young Woman of the Year and will represent the county at the Distinguished Young Women of Georgia State Showcase on Saturday, July 12 at 4:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Rome Civic Auditorium, where Isabella will compete alongside other high-achieving young women from across the state.
A rising senior at Sonoraville High School, Isabella has already made a lasting impression in her community. She recently co-hosted Coffee, Country, and Great Conversation with Foxx during a live broadcast from the downtown farmers market, showcasing the same poise and work ethic that helped her earn the DYW title.
“She made our morning delightful,” said event organizers, praising her charm and professionalism.
As part of her journey to the state stage, Isabella appeared Tuesday morning on WJTH Community First Radio Station’s Georgia 101.7 Morning Show with Brent Jones. During the segment, she reflected on the personal growth and life lessons she’s gained through the Distinguished Young Women program. She was joined by Christa Jones, DYW of Gordon County Local Chair, and Valerie Robbins, DYW of Gordon County Production Chair.
The DYW of Georgia program offers more than a competition—it includes life skills training, interview preparation, fitness and talent development, and opportunities for community service. Isabella will participate in a full week of activities leading up to the showcase.
The public is invited to attend the State Showcase on July 12. Tickets will be available at the door.
A Send-Off Reception in Isabella’s honor will be held Sunday, July 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cassie’s on Wall Street. Friends, family, and community members are encouraged to stop by, offer their support, and help celebrate her accomplishments.
Gordon County is proud to support Isabella as she takes the next step in her DYW journey, and all eyes will be on Rome as she represents the community with grace, talent, and determination.
