Gordon County was well represented at the 82nd Annual Georgia 4-H State Congress, held in Atlanta from July 22–25, where top 4-H members from across the state came together to compete, connect, and celebrate their achievements.
This prestigious event marks the culmination of the 4-H year, featuring state-level competitions in Project Achievement and Leadership in Action. In addition to youth contests, the State Congress also honors outstanding 4-H professionals, supporters, and public officials who help drive the success of the 4-H program throughout Georgia.
Four outstanding Gordon County 4-H’ers earned the opportunity to compete at the state level this year:
-
Ally Jo Cook participated in the Beef Project
-
Clayton Haddox competed in the Poultry Project
-
Candy Romero showcased her work in the Swine Project
-
William Parish took part in the Public Speaking Project
Their participation at State Congress reflects their dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence within the 4-H program.
Gordon County 4-H and the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension extend congratulations to these students for representing their community with pride and passion.
