Calhoun High School senior Isaac Tibbs has been named the school’s 2026 PAGE STAR Student, an honor recognizing exceptional academic achievement and performance on the SAT.
The announcement was made by Kendra Arnold, senior counselor at Calhoun High School. Tibbs, the son of Kristopher and Natalie Tibbs, earned the distinction by achieving the highest SAT score at CHS on a single test date while ranking among the top students in his graduating class.
As part of the recognition, Tibbs selected Mrs. Kelli DeGuire, an English teacher at Calhoun High School, as his STAR Teacher, acknowledging her impact on his academic success.
The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program is sponsored and administered by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) and the PAGE Foundation. Established in 1958, the STAR program has honored nearly 30,000 of Georgia’s highest-achieving high school seniors and the educators who have inspired them.
To qualify for STAR recognition, graduating seniors must earn the highest SAT score at their school on a single test date and rank in the top 10 percent or among the top 10 students in their graduating class based on grade point average.
STAR recognition begins at the high school level, where each STAR Student selects a STAR Teacher to share in the honor. Students and teachers may advance to system, regional, and state-level competitions, with STAR Teachers continuing alongside their students at each level.
Through programs such as the PAGE STAR Program, the PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades, and the Georgia Academic Decathlon, PAGE and the PAGE Foundation continue to promote academic excellence and recognize outstanding students and educators across Georgia.
Calhoun City Schools congratulates Isaac Tibbs and Mrs. Kelli DeGuire on this well-deserved achievement.
