Chief Meteorologist Patrick Core reports that nearly 99% of the area remained above freezing early this morning. However, conditions are expected to change significantly as the day progresses.

Core says the region will experience very wet conditions today, along with occasional gusty winds. Much colder air is forecast to move back into the area early tonight, which could lead to rapidly falling temperatures.

As colder air wraps in, Core warns that any lingering moisture on roadways, bridges, and sidewalks may freeze quickly, increasing the risk of flash freezing overnight and into Monday morning. Residents are urged to use caution, especially during overnight and early-morning travel, as icy conditions could develop with little warning.

Additional updates will be shared as weather conditions continue to develop.
