Chris Carr has announced a new public safety initiative aimed at locating and recovering missing children across Georgia. The “Eyes on the Road” Campaign is led by Carr’s Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit and seeks to engage the private sector in the fight against human trafficking.

Several companies are already participating, including United Parcel Service, RaceTrac, Truckers Against Trafficking, and the Georgia Hotel & Lodging Association. Participating organizations will receive “Be on the Lookout” alerts for missing children, along with instructions to report sightings, creating a statewide network to bring children home safely.

“The majority of our human trafficking cases involve a missing child, and we’re using all available resources to safely bring them home,” Carr said. “By partnering with UPS, RaceTrac, Truckers Against Trafficking, and GHLA, we’re able to expand our footprint and save even more lives.”

Georgia First Lady Marty Kemp added, “Human traffickers thrive when they can hide in plain sight. Steps like this create eyes and ears statewide, which is so important.”

Corporate partners say the campaign strengthens their ability to act in real time. UPS emphasized that “a trained and engaged driver workforce dedicated to making a simple phone call can and will change lives,” while TAT’s Executive Director Esther Goetsch praised Carr’s leadership in uniting stakeholders. GHLA President Chris Hardman noted that the initiative builds on Georgia’s hotel industry’s long history of training and prevention, equipping teams to identify and report missing children.

Businesses can participate by signing up online, designating a point person to receive alerts, distributing information internally, and reporting tips securely. Questions may be sent to [email protected].

Since its creation in 2019, the Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit has secured more than 70 criminal convictions and rescued over 200 children, working statewide from its offices in Atlanta, Macon, and Augusta. The unit is part of the Attorney General’s Prosecution Division, which also includes the Gang Prosecution, White Collar and Cyber Crime, and Organized Retail Crime Units.

The “Eyes on the Road” Campaign represents a new level of collaboration between law enforcement and the private sector, aiming to protect Georgia’s most vulnerable and make the state a leader in the fight against human trafficking.
