A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in Rome.
The United States Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force announced the reward as authorities continue searching for 25-year-old Chancelor Lamar Crawford, who remains at large.
Crawford is wanted in connection with the April 19 shooting death of 22-year-old Chancellore Jabez Donaldson. The fatal incident occurred outside a dollar store on North Broad Street in Rome.
According to the Rome Police Department, investigators have secured a felony murder warrant for Crawford. Authorities describe him as a Black male, 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds.
Investigators believe Crawford may be in Northwest Georgia or the Metro Atlanta area. Law enforcement officials have warned that Crawford should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by members of the public.
“Our investigators are actively working to locate Chancelor Lamar Crawford and are asking for the public’s immediate assistance in determining his whereabouts,” the Rome Police Department said in a statement.
Officials are encouraging anyone with information about Crawford’s location to come forward. Authorities credited previous public assistance with helping investigators secure warrants in the case and are asking for continued cooperation as the search continues.
Anyone who sees Crawford is urged not to confront him and to contact law enforcement immediately.
