Voters across Georgia will return to the polls Tuesday, June 16, for the General Primary Runoff Election.
Locally, Republican voters will decide the Gordon County Board of Education At-Large Post 7 race between Judy M. Craig and Dakota Grogan. The winner of Tuesday’s runoff will secure the Republican nomination for the seat. In addition to the local school board contest, voters will also cast ballots in several statewide runoff races that remain undecided following the May primary election.
Polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Election officials remind residents that any voter who is in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to cast a ballot, even if voting extends beyond the official closing time.
Voters are encouraged to verify their polling location before heading to the polls and to bring an acceptable form of photo identification. Georgia law requires voters to present a valid photo ID when voting in person.
The runoff election gives voters the opportunity to decide races in which no candidate received the required majority of votes during the primary election. Election officials are urging eligible voters to participate and make their voices heard.
Residents with questions about voter eligibility, polling locations, absentee ballots, or election procedures can contact the Gordon County Board of Elections and Registration for assistance.
Election Day voting will conclude at 7 p.m. Tuesday, with results expected to be reported after polls close and ballots are counted.
